Big win tonight at home vs the arche rival Huskies!! Tim Thiessen scored half a minute into overtime to win it for the Mohawks. Although outshot badly in the game, and especially in the 3rd period, they played a great team game and came away with the 2 points. Tyler Funk had the first 2 goals for the Mohawks. Cody Janz made 49 saves for the win.
On Saturday the Mohawks are in St Pierre. It's another big game as they look to secure 7th spot. With a win, they'll be 4 points up on St Pierre.

It was a great weekend for the Mohawks! a 13-2 win tonight at home vs St Pierre and a 11-3 win last night in La Broquerie. Mitchell was up 3-1 after 1 and 9-1 after 2, and won 13-2. Troy Funk led the way with 3 goals, Ryan O'Donnell, Riley Chabluk, and Travis Funk each had 2.Tim Thiessen, Tyler Funk, Evan Vogt and Cody Penner each added singles. Cody Janz 'AP' made 42 saves for the win.
Next up is the Steinbach Huskies on Thursday Jan 26th at home. Mitchell has been playing well as of late and will need to keep up that play to have a chance to beat Steinbach. Steinbach and Lorette are fighting for 1st place so it'll be an intense game.

MItchell won 11-3 last night in La Broquerie. They are 3-1 now in there last 4 games and will look to continue that tonight as they host the St Pierre 59ers. Mitchell jumped out to a 6-0 lead after 1. Tim Thiessen had 3, Robert Warkentin, Ryan O'Donnell and Stephen Funk each had singles. 2nd period was a tighter game with MItchell ahead 8-1. Travis Funk had 1, and Stephen Funk added his 2nd. La Broquerie got 2 more in the 3rd and Mitchell added 3 more on goals by Evan Vogt, Riley Chabluk and Robert Warkentin got his 2nd of the game. Nathan Heide made 31 saves for his 2nd win of the season.
Big game tonight against St Pierre at home, with a Mitchell win they tie the 59ers for 7thh place.

The Mohawks lost a tough game last night 3-2 to Red River. Red River came out flying scoring twice in the first 3 minutes. After giving up those 2 early goals the guys woke up and started playing like they had been in the previous games. Tim Thiessen got one back on a delayed penalty. Mohawks tied it up early in the 2nd on a powerplay goal by Tim Thiessen. but before the period ended, the Mudbugs got one more and there was no more scoring after that.
Nathan Heide and Cody Janz 'AP' made 46 saves in the loss.
The team has 8 days off, and will be in La Broquerie next week Friday, and then the following night back at home to face the St Pierre 59'ers. Those are 2 big games as they jockie for 7th spot.

The Mohawks are officially on a winning streak! Beating La Broquerie Friday, and Niverville Saturday night 9-2. Evan Vogt scored his first of two 14 seconds into the game. Niverville tied it one minute later and then Rene Loewen scored his first of 2 half a minute later. Mohawks lead 5-1 after 1, 6-2 after 2 and came away with the 9-2 win. Other goal scorers for Mitchell were Tim Thiessen (2),Mark Larson, Riley Chabluk and Travis Funk. Cale Mogg made 14 saves in the win.
Mitchell plays host to the Red River Mudbugs on Thursday Jan 12th. it's there last meeting of the year and will look to take 1 out of 3 against them this year.

The Mohawks came out flying tonight in La Broquerie. 13-0 was the final. Jayden Plett let the team with 5 goals, Tim Thiessen and Travis Funk each had 2 goals, and singles coming from Paul Marsch, Tyler Funk,Troy Blad 'AP' and Stephen Funk. Cody Janz 'AP' made 26 saves for the shut out. Unfortunately the game ended on a sour note with Jayden Plett breaking his arm with just over 2 minutes left to play. He hopes to be back for the playoffs!
Tomorrow night the Mohawks play host to the Niverville Clippers. With the win tonight, the Mohawks jumped 1 point ahead in the standings. It's a crucial game tomorrow as it slowly gets closer to the playoffs. The bottom 4 teams playoff in a 3 game mini series to see who gets 7 and 8 place respectively. 7 plays 10, and 8 plays 9. The winning 2 teams will join the balance 6 teams for regular playoff series.

The Mohawks came up short last night in Beausejour losing 8-5. Tied at 2 after the first, and then tied at 4 after 2. Mitchell went ahead early in the 3rd, but let up 4 unanswered goals after that.
Mitchell's goal scorers were Riley Chabluk, Troy Blad 'AP', Jayden Plett, Cody Penner and Stephen Funk. Cale Mogg made 43 saves in the loss.
The Mohawks haven't seen the win column much this year, but as of late are playing better and we believe it's just a matter of time before the wins will start coming.
Next up for Mitchell is a road trip out to La Broquerie Friday Jan 6th, and then the following night at home vs Niverville.

The Mohawks lost 5-2 tonight at home vs Steinbach. Mitchell was down 1-0 after 1, and 5-0 after 2. Steinbach ran into penalty troubles in the 3rd and Mitchell was able to get 2, 1 by Stephen Funk, and 1 by Tyler Funk. Cale Mogg made 39 saves in the loss.

After winning there 2nd game of the year against Niverville, the Mohawks have lost 2 since. a 6-5 decision to St Pierre, and a 4-1 loss to Grunthal. Next up is the arch rival Steinbach Huskies on Thursday Dec 22nd at home. Although it hasn't shown up in the win column, the Mohawks have been playing better as of late, and are hoping to build off that on Thursday. Come out and support your Mohawks!!

The Mohawks lost a tough game last night. Mitchell jumped out to a 2-0 lead early on, but couldn't maintain the momentum. Springfield tied before the period was over. After the second period Springfield was up 5-3, and wound up winning 8-4. Mitchell goal scorers were David Plett, Ryan O'Donnell, and 2 by Stephen Funk. Cale Mogg made 50 saves in the loss.
The Mohawks have off until next week Friday, when they go into St Jean to face the Red River Mudbugs. it's a new month, and the Mohawks are hoping to get off on the right foot.
